CB2's World Panel Clock is Sci-Fi Sexy
Our desks are so cluttered we have given up the fight for organization, and that is exactly why we are tempted by CB2's World Panel Clock. The transparent LCD display looks Star Trek awesome and has all sorts of useless information we would otherwise have on our desktops, including time and calendar functions. As you well know, we are suckers for cool, as you can tell from our fantastic fashion sense...well, CB2's World Panel Clock certainly does have ample flair, with a brushed aluminum base and a slanted transparent display. The timepiece is battery powered, which will saves you adding to your wired disorganization and is available for a reasonable $24.95. The fight against unneeded, largely pointless gizmos is futile—we'll have one over here, please.

GraGraph Earthquake Meter
Next time you're wondering if the earthquake of the century is starting to hit, this GraGraph earthquake meter will let you know just how bad that tremblor is, in real time. Once an earthquake starts (it doesn't say how strong, could mean a lot of false alarms), this little alarm-clock-sized device lets out a powerful wail, and then helpfully suggests what you might do next. Presumably this gives you time to get out of your house before it falls down around you. It's peace of mind for $85, but come to think of it, if there's a really bad earthquake, do you really need an alarm to tell you to get the hell out of there?

Don't need batteries to light your way anymore
Have you ever been in the situation, when it is so dark around that you can't even open the door with your key? Everything that glows is used then as a torch – cell phone’s display, hand watch’s light, etc. Of course it’s a good idea to carry a flash-light around. But sometimes they are so bulky, and batteries in them like to discharge when you need light the most. Portable flash-lights often use small and expensive batteries, that are sometimes more expensive than the device.
The solution was found by Red5. Portable flash-light that runs WITHOUT any battery! Just wind the small crank that hides in there – and this gadget will light your way in the dark. You will never be left alone in the dark again; there is no need to worry about battery life anymore. It is extremely portable and useful, and I’m sure – there will be place in your pockets for this tiny shiny gadget.

Ceramic Paper Speakers
Singaporean Yong Jieyu's ceramic paper speakers (actually, they're less speaker than amplifier) are made from clay — one of the best materials for sound amplification thanks to its low sound absorbent coefficiency — and recycled music scores. Place your an earphone inside each "speaker" and voila! your tunes can be heard by all and sundry.

World's Smallest 189-grams Camcorder
The Sanyo Xacti DMX-HD700 —the younger sister of the DMX-HD1000 we tried at IFA2007— has been announced in the US and will be available at the end of October. At 189 grams and 171 cubic centimeters, Sanyo claims it's the smallest 720p camcorder in the world, taking AVC/H.264 video and 7.1-megapixel stills with Face Chaser technology which can track 12 faces simultaneously. Its specs are quite impressive for its $600 price

Solar Wheeled Bike
This bike sports some shiny solar panels on the wheels which are responsible for powering this beauty. The solar panels can power a 500 watt motor as well as charge the batteries. It seems like you need to let the bike stand for a bit before using the power so that the batteries can get a good charge and get this thing running at 19MPH. One downside is that it weighs a hefty 75 pounds which cannot be good if you are working your way up a hill and need more sunlight to get you to the top.
Another problem I see if the wheels. No doubt a hefty side wind is going to whip you right off this thing if you are not careful. Just take care as it will cost you $1295 to buy a new one should you damage it. The alternative option is the conversion kit for $800.

Waterproof Speakers in Music Showcase
Holidays and it is time to go swimming and sunbathing. However, what should you do if you want to take your MP3 player or iPod and listen to your favorite tunes wherever you are? The answer is easy all you need to do is get the Music Showcase gadget.
This gadget will also protect your iPod or any other MP3 player by holding it in its own case. So your player will be secured too. Even if Showcase falls into the water it will just float in water. Nice feature if you want to swim with it in your own pool.
Besides being water resistant it is also resistant to such chemicals as soap, shampoo and sea water. The gadget is also resistant to shock and scratches. You get a really hard to brake speaker system for extreme use. Won't stand if you drop it from 1000 feet though, but still pretty tough.
One more thing that would be very useful; you can control your iPod without taking the water tight seal off. This means that you can change tracks right in the water or in the shower and your iPod will be OK.
Getting this gadget for 70 pounds (about $ 140) is great because it will protect your player and at the same time play some music for you.

Kineticel, the Human Powered Battery Charger
One of the ideas submitted to the Next Generation competition featured in Metropolis Magazine was this Kinetic Energy-harnessing battery charger by Yael Miller. The concept is to take something we're already doing—such as working out, flopping around in a baby rocker, vacuuming, or flushing the toilet—add the piezoelectric effect, and come out with batteries that are charged by "human power." Imagine all the television remotes we could power just from flushing our droppings.

Hanging Chair
Chairs are needed in most places. They come in many shapes and sizes. The latest I came across is the hanging chair which opens flat and can be hung on the wall like a piece of art work. Put in the words of the creator…
Yeah… its a chair that folds flat and hangs on a wall. Thats my English translation of the above quote"intertwines the emotion of art with the single poetics of form following function."

Home Theater Screen Disguised as a Bookshelf
Now, here's a great idea: Why not disguise a projection screen as a bookshelf, and then place a few other identical-looking shelves nearby as decoys? That's just what Italian designer Matteo Ragni has dreamed up here, trying to cross that bridge between a dedicated home theater room and a multi-use space that might double as a reading room, too. The only problem we see? If this is going to be a big enough screen, it's going to amount to one tremendously long shelf. This example is 170 centimeters, or 66.9 inches wide. That's not going to give you much of a big-screen experience.

DialAFlight City Breaks
I've got lots of cousins living abroad, and so once in a while we think of taking our holidays in Australia. For sure, we need to look for cheap flights and holiday offers to Adelaide, Perth, Queensland, and Gold Coast. Yup, I have lots of relatives there, though not in all of those areas. Oh, almost forgot, we need to look for Melbourne and Sydney flights, too! We do have relatives there.
Too bad my cousins there and I aren't that close together. So I guess that's why we really should think about finding flights to Australia this coming holiday (and that's going to be this coming Christmas!). Good thing there's this DialAFlight site which also offers cheap flights and holiday offers to my destination!
DialAFlight is a site where you can get cheap flights, hotels, car hire, city breaks, and travel insurance so that you will get that perfect all-inclusive trip to the destination of your choice! I am so sure that they will also be able to get us those cheap flights to Australia, too! I just hope my family (specially my mom, since most of our relatives on her side are the ones living there) and I will get the chance to travel there and meet our cousins. Boy, I honestly can't wait till we get there ... will be dreaming of the trip and hope it materializes real soon!

Transparent Toaster
This transparent toaster allows you to see the bread while it is toasting so you’re never surprised by toast that comes out too dark. This idea is based on a transparent heating glass technology. It’s still just a concept but hopefully we will see it in stores in the near future.

Pre Charged Rechargeable Batteries from Duracell
Duracell has announced some new batteries which will be coming out soon. They are pre charged rechargeable batteries which are NiMH (nickel metal hydride). A cool thing about the batteries is the ability to store power for a year when not used. Most rechargeable batteries go flat after a while if not charged. The batteries will cost $12.99 for a pack of 4.

Magic Backpack Straps Generate Power
Forget about setting up that windmill on top of your backpack to juice up all those gadgets; now you can just use the weight of the backpack itself to generate power with these energy-harvesting backpack straps. Sure, someone thought of an energy-generating backpack before, but these straps are the tricky part here, using a special piezoelectric material called polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), generating electrical charges when stress is applied. Sounds like some serious magic.
Instead of cutting into your shoulders, these nylon-like straps convert that mechanical strain into electrical energy, and researchers have figured out that if you carry a 100-pound pack and walk at 2-3 mph you can generate 45.6 mW of power. That's enough to the power an iPod, or maybe a head-mounted flashlight. But a 100-pound pack? They're saying that's a typical weight for soldiers to carry. That'll make you think twice about signing up to go to Iraq.

Cool Lamp
This lamp looks very cool. Its built with LEDs (hundreds of them) encased in a sweeping arc. This creates a nice warm halo of light around the person sat under it. I just wish I had the room to go with it as it wont sit well in a small living space. Still cool though, but unfortunately it wont be put in production as far as I can see with it being a one off piece.

USB Airplane Fan
This little plane is powered by USB. The propeller on the front acts as a fan to cool you down. There is no fear of it taking off due to it being connected via USB (and blowing the wrong way obviously).

TV Out on iPhone Coming Soon via Software Update?
The Apple Store page for the component AV cables—which up until now only supported the iPod classic—lists both the iPod touch and the iPhone as supported devices. What's up with that? The iPhone doesn't support TV out. Well, seeing as the iPod touch is also there, and since the touch and the iPhone are almost exactly the same, it makes sense that while adding TV out to the touch, Apple will go ahead and add TV out to the iPhone as well. Either that or this is just a mistake in the page.

Hotel Reservations
If you are planning for an holiday to go around the world and enjoy it, you will also thinks about your stay at the same time, because no one holiday is enjoyable without an comfortable stay. If you are going for an holiday in prime time like summers season there might be a problem in hotel reservation or this problem you see earlier when you are traveled, & I know they are very painful if u don’t get stay of your kind or comfortable so relating to that I find an website who solve your’s problem completely on that & they make your stay arrangement if you are on world tour ;-). Hotel Reservations is an website where you can get whole information on your stay offerings like hotels, motels, resorts, vacations rentals etc. Here you will get best and cheap pricing as compare to other competitors; the rates are with great discounts on world wide destinations it means where ever you go you will get discounts. I think one of the best resources for Cheap Hotels you must visit on this great web site. I assure you will get what you want and much more then that, a complete services and solution for all your travel and hotels reservation needs. So having a site like Hotel Reservations.com around makes it much much easier to find the best rate without a lot of hassle.
If you visit on this site you will see there are Hotels, Flights, Cars, Vacation Rentals, Vacation Packages links and language option Web Site in Your Language & Currency that’s a great thing. On the right side call NOW and SAVE!! Option is also there you can make a call at toll free to make your Reservation 1-800-447-4136 (in US & Canada), for group booking you can Call toll free to make your Reservation1-800-447-4136 (in US & Canada). One great advantage to the website is the many different options in its search engine. You just enter a city into the search box, check in check out dates, number or rooms, and how many people and the sites search engine finds what your looking for. They even list the motels, hotels and resorts in other countries such as Germany Greece, Belgium, and France. You also have the option of having your search results listed by lowest or highest priced, quality, Alphabetical and you can choose to have hotels listed that are near a landmark in the city you might like to visit and the site has those landmarks listed on a drop down bar with the search results. Its easy and for everyone to use. Zune Phone maybe Coming
The Apple iPhone has been very successful which has led Microsoft to rethink their stance on the possibility of a Zune phone. Recently they stated that it is not unreasonable for them to create a phone based on the Zune music platform. Sounds good to me although if Steve Ballmer has input it must have a keyboard. This along with the Google Phone could lead to some nice competition over the years to come.

Custom Built LightSabers
These lightsabers cost around 500 dollars and are custom built using Class II lasers that are placed inside polycarbonate rods. Sound effects are also used to make the familiar noises when swiping and clashing 2 of them together. In the handle is a place for a AAA powered laser which shines through a semi-translucent rod. The polycarbonate rod is supposed to be very durable also. The hilt is made of steel. This makes them look authentic, but yet you can still battle it out with each other and not be afraid of smashing the lightsaber to pieces. 500 dollars will get you a fairly advanced and well designed version and you can pay up to 700 dollars for a Count Dooku style version.

USB Plasma Ball
The Plasma ball has been around for years. They used to cost an arm and a leg if I remember correctly and then they dropped in price quite a bit. For those who need their plasma ball fix you can now get a USB version which works just like a regular plasma ball that is plugged in. The USB port can provide sufficient power to light up the gasses inside and create a dazzling display of plasma type stuff.
The USB plasma ball stands about 6 inches tall and can be switched on and off by either unplugging it or by the switch located on the base. All we need now is the USB Plasma Ball Flash Drive with cosmic data fragments floating around inside.

Casio Exilim, First 360 View
We just stopped by Casio's booth to get our eyes on the new Exilim we told you about earlier today. Shooting a drool-worthy 60fps bursts and 300fps of VGA video, it's a beefy camera—definitely heftier than my Rebel XTi (from what we could see through the glass).
Something you won't see in the press release: this isn't a real SLR since no mirror is used. So internally it resembles a point-and-click more than its dSLR competition. Prototype spec dump after the jump.Posted by Waseem at 12:00 PM 0 comments
