Sole Mio, a Solar Powered Mouse tested by Dutch Minister

It seems, this time the Dutch have started working on improving the world environment.

Delft University of Technology has tested a solar-powered mouse called Sole Mio, claiming it to be the world’s first mouse powered exclusively by natural light.

Sole Mio requires real sunlight to function properly. The mouse uses 20mA of electricity while active, can store 300mAh onboard, and can charge at a rate of up to 250 mA in full sunlight.

The Minister Cramer of the Ministry for Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment took part in a user trial of the world’s first exclusively photovoltaic-powered (PV) computer mouse.

The user needs to sit near the window for the user-friendly mouse to get charged whenever required. It can perhaps be charged when not in use.
